The lakefront

Known on the lake as Pier 360, the lakefront area is NBBC's pride and joy. Here campers can swim and receive swim lessons in the clear, spring-fed waters of beautiful Geneva Lake. Everyday at 11:00am, rain or shine, the historic Walworth II mailboat passes by our pier while its professional and nimble mail jumpers drop off NBBC’s mail and newspapers. This is a daily event that is unique to Geneva Lake and never fails to disappoint any audience! Lakefront camper activities include: kayaking, power boat rides, fishing, hiking, water festival, games, and sports. The pier and beach swimming areas have full-time certified life guards and volunteer aquatic observers to safely keep an eye on all our campers.

the children’s DORMITORIES

Known as ‘The Dorms’, are the 2 buildings where our campers lodge during their stay at NBBC. The Children's Dormitory Buildings are divided into Boys and Girls dorms. Each dorm can house 12 children on 2-tier bunk beds in a common sleeping room along with 2 counselors in an attached dorm room. Each dorm is equipped with sinks, toilets, and changing areas. Right next door to the dorms is the shower building which has several individual and private shower rooms. NBBC hosts our campers in a rustic, yet comfortable housing environment where they can relax, sleep, dress, and bathe in comfort.

Game room and refectory

The Game Room, called the ‘Rec Room’, is one of our camper’s favorite places to have fun. The Game Room offers ping pong, pool, air hockey, basketball, and good times. Because its located under our Main Building, it’s one of the "coolest" places in camp on a hot summer night. The adjacent Refectory offers nightly treats of ice cream and candy along with board games and a free library for our campers. This combined space is one of the most popular places to hang at NBBC.

The playground and sport court

The Playground: Located at NBBC's Upper Hill, our modern playground provides a safe space for campers to enjoy even more outdoor recreational activities playing on swings, slides, jungle gym, see saw, zip line, Gaga ball and tether ball courts. The Upper Hill is also the location of NBBC's outdoor fireplace and picnic area.

Sports Court: The Sports Court hosts an array of recreational activities including basketball, volleyball, pickle ball, dance parties, and more.

THE BOWMAN CHAPEL

Named in honor of Louis Bowman, who served on NBBC's Board of Directors for over 20 years. FUN FACT: Bowman is best known for introducing the phrase "under God" into the United States' Pledge of Allegiance. NBBC holds Sunday school and church services for our cottager volunteers in this chapel every Sunday during the summer season. The public is welcome to attend. The chapel also hosts our traditional Vespers Service on Tuesday evenings and our campers’ Talent Show on Thursday evenings.

The main building

Located along the shoreline of Geneva Lake , NBBC's historic Main Building is the center of NBBC life. It contains the Office, Kitchen, Dining Room and Chapel on its main floor. Dating prior to NBBC's establishment in 1909, it is one of the original buildings on the property. It boasts a long, iconic open air porch which sprawls across its entire length. The outstanding view of the lake from the Main Building porch is unsurpassed. The camp's Refectory and Game Room are located on the lower level.

the craft house

Built in 1962, the historic Betty Mitchell Memorial Craft House is the center of many camper activities. Housed within are many creative opportunities for our campers to express themselves artistically through a wide array of arts & crafts projects, talent show rehearsals, and rainy day activities.
