Women's League

The NBBC Women's League has been one of the most vital and important supporters of camp activites since the early 1920's, when it was first established to assist with the camp's development and transition from canvas to lumber housing. Its membership consists of women from camp and other volunteers who continue to support the camp's mission with philanthropic activites and three major fundraisers each year.

Fundraisers

Memorial Day Weekend's Spaghetti Dinner kicks off the season each year and is attended by nearly all of the volunteers in camp for the holiday weekend, who enjoy this wonderful dinner after working hard to get the camp open for the upcoming camper season. Midsummer's Annual Salad Luncheon is attended by overflowing crowds each year and serves as a reunion attracting many former cottagers and visitors to camp. The Women's League closes out the summer with their biggest event, the Annual Hot Dog Roast held on the camp's picnic and playground area the Sunday before Labor day. The event features a wonderful meal and a multitude of raffle prizes donated by cottagers and local area businesses!

Along with these events, the league also sells Barr Camp t-shirts and sweatshirts throughout the summer. All funds raised help support the Children's Program as well as contributing to the upkeep of the camp's chapel, lodge and kitchen. Proceeds are also used to provide some of the beautiful flowers and landscaping throughout camp.
